Post-jam small bug fixes and visual updates


Small update to the game post-GMTK Jam

Updates include some small visual updates and other general quality of life changes that didn't make the cut for the jam version, including:

  1. Added a main menu
  2. Added a pause menu (ESC key)
  3. Added the orange background to the levels
  4. Updated some menus' texts and visuals
  5. Changed some level parameters to better fit the levels (shorten time levels for level 1 and 2 and adjust spawn time)

 And some other small QoLs and bug fixes.

Future plans:

I was pleasantly surprised to have received a warm reception to the jam version, so I'm planning out some bigger updates to incorporate the feedback, including: Updates to the actual player control UI, adding an in-game tutorial and updates to the customers AI.

Beyond that, I'm not too sure yet, but I could see this being expanded into a full game with some other major content. Those things could include things in a lot of people's suggestions like ability to buy upgrades, unlocking content like more shop types, customers' type, in-game events etc. It could become like a management style game where you also build out your mall and operate it (with the main focus still on the elevators or other moving apparatus). Another interesting direction I could see the game being expanded into is a full-fledged idle game where you build an progressively higher and higher elevator, reaching space and beyond. But there's no concrete plans yet.
